Indication

Injection of cefazolin sodium is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections such as otitis media, bronchitis and pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, sepsis, infective endocarditis, hepatobiliary system infections and infections of eyes, ears, nose and throat caused by sensitive bacteria. It can also be used as a preventive medicine before surgery. This product is not suitable for central nervous system infection. The curative effect of chronic urinary tract infection, especially those with anatomical abnormality of urinary tract, is poor. This product is not suitable for treating gonorrhea and syphilis.

Before taking this medicine
Cefazolin can cause severe or life-threatening allergic reactions. If you have ever had a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics, you should not use cefazolin, such as:
Cefazolin, cefuroxime, cefixime, cefdinir, cefoxitin, cefprozil, ceftriaxone, cefalexin, Keflex, Omnicef, etc.
Avitam, relebactam, sulbactam, tazobactam, vaborbactam, etc. or
Amoxicillin(amoxicillin, amoxicillin, moxibustion is auspicious), ampicillin, dicloxacillin, oxacillin, penicillin, etc.
Please tell your doctor if you have ever:
Allergy to any drug (especially penicillin);
Kidney disease;
Liver disease;
Attack;
Intestinal problems, such as colitis;
Diabetes; or
Allergic to corn.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Cefazolin side effects
If you have signs of allergic reaction (urticaria, dyspnea, swelling of face or throat) or severe skin reaction (fever, sore throat, burning eyes, skin pain, red or purple rash spreading and causing blistering and peeling), please seek emergency medical help.
Cefazolin may cause serious side effects. Please call your doctor immediately if you have:
Severe stomach pain, watery or bloody diarrhea (even if it happens a few months after the last dose);
White patches or ulcers in the mouth or lips;
Fever, swollen glands, itching, joint pain or discomfort;
Seizure; or
Liver problems-upper stomach pain, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay stool, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes).
Common side effects of cefazolin may include:
Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea;
Headache;
Pain caused by drug injection;
Rash; or
Allergic reaction.

Drug interaction

1. This product is incompatible with the following drugs, and cannot be instilled in the same bottle: amikacin sulfate, kanamycin sulfate, chlortetracycline hydrochloride, oxytetracycline hydrochloride, tetracycline hydrochloride, erythromycin gluconate, polymyxin B sulfate, sodium polymyxin methanesulfonate, pentobarbital, calcium gluconate and calcium gluconate. 2. This product combined with gentamicin or amikacin can enhance antibacterial effect in vitro. 3. The combination of this product with strong diuretics may increase nephrotoxicity, and the combination with aminoglycoside antibiotics may increase the latter’s nephrotoxicity. 4. Probenecid can increase the blood drug concentration and prolong the blood half-life.
